Dear Highline Families,
As we wrap up another school year, I hope you'll take a moment to reflect on the memories that will stay with your family long after summer begins.
Perhaps it was your child's first day of kindergarten, a performance or game, a science project, a conversation about something they learned, or the excitement of moving up to the next grade or graduating.
Public education is made up of these moments.
Some are big milestones. Others are the quiet victories that happen to one student at a time as they grow in confidence, discover new interests and realize what they are capable of.
Across Highline this year, we saw students earn academic recognition, explore future careers, create meaningful projects, learn in brand new schools and prepare for life beyond graduation. We also saw thousands of everyday acts of kindness, perseverance and belonging that may never make headlines but matter just as much.
We've gathered a few of those stories in a year-end collection of bright spots. I invite you to take a few minutes to read them and celebrate what our students, staff and community accomplished together.
