Hello Midway Families,
We miss seeing all of you. We want to make sure that you know that we are here for you and want to stay connected, albeit in a different way. Our goal this week is to connect with ALL families. Our two main methods for communication between teachers and families right now are email (either direct email or through Synergy Parent Vue) and SeeSaw. We hope that EVERY family can get on SeeSaw (this is an app on your phone) and/or connect with teachers via email this week.
SeeSaw: This week you will be getting a SMS text message and/or email from your child’s teacher through SeeSaw.
- When you open the message, you will see directions on how to connect to your child’s journal. Once you click the link and create an account, you will be prompted to download the SeeSaw Family App from your App Store. Now you will be able to communicate directly with the teacher and see any entry your student and teacher posts! You also need to get the Seesaw Class App
- Your child will use the Seesaw Class app for home learning. This is different than the Seesaw Family app. If your home device is a tablet or phone, download or update the Seesaw Class app in your device’s app store. The most recent version of Seesaw is required for home learning. App update is required! If your home device is a laptop or computer, visit app.seesaw.me. Students log-in with Google/email using their #######@g.highlineschools.org and the password they use for that (probably their birthday mm/dd/yyyy).
Phone/Text: Our office is closed, so unfortunately we are not able to answer our main school phone line. You can leave a voicemail and someone will get back to you. You can also contact Dr. Ellis on her work cell phone via phone or text: 206-823-4056.
Learning Resources: Don’t let your student get behind while schools are closed. Please visit Online Learning Resources for access to tools or pick up a packet along with a grab and go lunch until March 25th at locations including Mt. Rainier High School from 11-11:30 or Pacific Middle School from 12-12:30. Stay tuned for additional information
Social Emotional Support: Check in with your student and how they are feeling using the Mood Meter below. Here are some lessons and resources to help you support your child that align with the curriculum we use at Midway to teach our students emotional intelligence skills
Need help for your family? Please know that we are here for you and are by your side (just virtually for now). We appreciate your partnership as we navigate this unknown territory together. Please feel free to reach out to any of our staff members through email. Some emails for your reference:
